How to dock a reference image to the Cinema 4D layout

A good reference image takes the guesswork out of proportions, angles, and color. Here's how to set up a reference image side-by-side with the Cinema 4D viewport.


How to dock a reference image to the layout in Cinema 4D

  1. In Cinema 4D, go to Window ▶ Picture Viewer.
  2. Hit ⌘O (Ctrl O) or click the open icon to load up your reference image.
  3. To dock the Picture Viewer in the layout, grab the panel handle and drag to the right side of the screen.

    • Use H to fit the image to the panel.
    • Use ⌘+ and ⌘- (Ctrl + and Ctrl -) to zoom in and out.
